I'm looking back...

As I wait for a new phase of life, I can't help but look back to see how did I fare the journey. At first, I see achievements and smiles; Pretty good I say. But slowly, as I pass thorugh the good memories, I see a box packed and locked so tight, that I dare not open. It was labelled "Regrets and Sorrows".

Who doesn't have these? Everyone has hidden them, just like me. And it takes lot of efforts to open the box, physical and mental. I did not wish to open this box as I knew, it'll hold the fears and the tears that contributed to my strength.

Why does life give us options and make us select just 1? It is never easy to let go. And after an option is selected, there is no looking back. Had there been a time machine, we would probably have more number of successful people.

In the journey we have met so many people; so many that we should have never felt lonely. Unfortunately, that never happens! We do feel alone, we do feel the need of someone who'll be there for us, someone we call a "friend".

Why does it happen? It is the law of the nature. People have to come, people have to go. Some by distance, some by death and some by misunderstandings.

For those who have loved and lost, will know how distance kills. Others who have been unfortunate, know how much it hurts when we know our loved ones will never come back. The rest, fall in the trap of the last parameter, misunderstanding. It is probably the worse of its kind. A deadlock that'll never be sorted.

There is a long list of people, incidences and choices that are packed in that box. Should I open it? Should I throw it? After a long argument with self.......

I decided to let go of the box. I know someday I'll return and open it, but for now, I wish to leave it as it is. No time for tears; no time for thoughts; no time for memories. It is time is to move forward, time is to take new decisions and some mistakes. Take the smiles from the past and keep moving, to never turn back!

Mistakes + Experience = Life!

At every stage of life we commit mistakes. I have been commiting mistakes since as long as I remember. After every mistake, I look back, smile and say, "Hey, I managed to get out of it, I must be smart!".. That not only gives me courage but it also prepares me to commit the next mistake! It is not fair to be just living by mistakes, but it is also not fair to be not experiencing those colors of life too. How can we learn from some one else's mistake? Have we not heard "The wearer knows where the shoe pinches."

So for all those who ask us to look at seniors and learn from their mistakes, here is my answer to them: No we won't! We are here to live our life on the terms that have been agreed to long before. Once we have written our destiny, we will reach there; by our own carved paths.

Everyone should, I believe, do that. Woh jeena he kya, ki jisme darr shamil ho! We have already been taught to be afraid of so many things in life. Injections, lizards, police, terrorists, failure, elders, guns, wars and so on. When will we find time to live and love when we are busy being worried and scared?

Time is now. It is time to live. Love yourself, smile at whatever is happening with you. Good or bad, it is all going to happen with us while we breathe. How we face it is our choice. And no one, mind you, no one will ever be able to control it for us. While I'm completely ignoring the fact that sometimes it hurts very bad to fail, I'm also ignoring the bliss we will experience when we attain that top-spot! It is all about the journey! Live it, love it, hate it, learn from it!

Guru Poornima! :)

Starting with the well-established fact:
GOD knew HE won't be free to handle every child and so, HE gave us parents. Parents knew they'll have kids who'll need a few more role models to learn from. That's when we got teachers! Per Indian mythology, a guru is next to GOD and treated with equal respect. A word from guru is told to be coming indirectly from GOD.

In ancient times, there was no one who would go against their guru's will. People then, would abide to every decree laid by them and would learn everything that their guru had to offer. Guru too, treated his disciples as their children. They would take proper care of the students and made sure they grew to be the best humans. By this of course, I am referring to the golden era of Ramayana and Mahabharata. We cannot forget what Eklavya did to please his guru Dronacharya.

Now, the times have changed a lot. We don't see the same respect anywhere. We don't see the same dedication, same learning, same mutual affection.
But there are those rare gems who continue to influence our lives and help us strive harder to become a better human. At each stage of life, we have different people teaching us a new lesson in life, some sweet, some harsh, some unforgettable.

Parents, undoubtedly, are the first gurus in every child's life. Right from getting up to going back to bed, everything that we do is taught to us by them. Mom taught us how to eat; dad lifted us to be able to walk. Mom read books to us to make us humans, dad took away fears. Mom taught me how to cook; dad taught me how to earn food. Dad selected clothes for me, mom helped me wear them. Remember riding your cycle first time? First day at school? And the list goes on n on...

Teachers at school and college? All the gyaan we read and write every day is given by them. Starting from alphabets to reading tough words, it is all because of them. There are some teachers who went on to become our guides, our philosophers and our mentors for life. I'm sure each 1 of us have learnt a very important lesson of life from them.
There are times when our teachers have become our best friends and helped us in our difficult times. What we can't tell every1, we tell them. They are next best ears to GOD.

And we meet people in life, who we may know or no, but they have some learning to offer. Directly or indirectly, we owe a lot to those people too. Some have been kind enough to let me do mistakes and learn on my own. Some have just led their lives and let me learn from their experiences.

On Guru Poornima, I want to thank all of them. Mom, dad, Kotak sir, Sunil sir and all those who have been there for me to guide me and let me learn from experience and mistakes too!! As life goes on, there is too much more to learn and understand and I know, with your support, I'll do it all, in a respectable and successful way......
